Eats & treats,

Best Gold Coast sunset drinks

December 20, 2021

There’s a reason the #sunset hashtag has racked up over 290 million posts on Instagram – we froth them.

And with an average of 300 days of sunshine a year, the Gold Coast is one of the best locations on the planet to enjoy a world-class sunset year-round. To help keep your ‘gram game on point, we’ve narrowed down some of the best establishments on the coast to enjoy the ultimate sunset drinks experience. So, what are you waiting for? Grab the gang and get your cameras at the ready, you’re not going to need a filter at these venues.

Rainbow Bay Surf Club

Rainbow Bay SLSC is the most southern club on the Queensland coastline and is positioned on one of Gold Coast’s only north facing beaches; providing sheltered conditions for swimming and year round perfect sunsets. It’s impossible to be stressed when you’re sitting on the balcony of this stunning venue watching the surfers catch wave after wave. The advertisement sitting proudly across the top of the surf club really says it all – “From where you’d rather be.”

Santaria Rooftop, The Pink Hotel Coolangatta

This spectacular spot is exclusive to guests of The Pink Hotel but can be experienced by us common folk by purchasing a guest day pass. The refurbished Coolangatta icon is home to hand crafted cocktails, superb views of over 57 kilometres of Gold Coast beaches and an unbeatable atmosphere. With an abundance of daybeds, delicious food options and knowledgeable, charismatic staff, Santaria is one you won’t want to miss.

So, mix up the routine, grab the gang, and get the good times rolling with an old-fashioned bar hop down south. For a stylish soiree, check out Moxys Rooftop Bar in Coolangatta, and for uninterrupted views over Gold Coast Airport’s iconic runway (which straddles the QLD and NSW border), give The Salty Fox a whirl – the jewel in the crown of the new Rydges Hotel development.
