Gold Coast’s New Boutique Yet Avant-Garde Series: The Art Series by This Is Art
August 25, 2021
Australia is home to a plethora of creatives bustling around from both near and far, this inspired Gold Coast based events company, This Is Art, to produce something special to showcase artists in a boutique yet avant-garde way.
That way is The Art Series. Launching this August, The Art Series will host their first event in collaboration with local artist Daniel Pap at Mermaid’s freshest new venue, Cheese Me Baby.
Doubling as Cheese Me Baby’s official launch night, the evening is set to be one for the books.
Following the mad success of This Is Art’s original events, their latest being in collaboration with Mint Art House, Gus Irwin, founder of This Is Art dreamt up The Art Series as a “way to collaborate with more emerging artists in an intimate setting”.
“There is so much talent here on the Gold Coast and we want to work with as many artists as we can to showcase their work,” says Gus Irwin.
“Differing from our original This Is Art events, The Art Series will be compact yet still boasts epic elements, and we can’t wait to bring the first to life with Daniel Pap,”
During these series, This Is Art won’t only be collaborating with artists, but also “boutique alcohol brands that really celebrate the taste of an experience,” adds Gus, with Young Henrys being one of their major sponsors for the evening.
Homegrown creative, tattoo artist, fine art enthusiast and painter, Daniel Pap is capable of almost anything so of course he was a natural candidate to start The Art Series off with a bang.
Having studied fine art in Brisbane, Pap’s utter fascination for representational expressionism and surrealism was set on fire.
Since then he has spent every day studying and painting which has given him a mad knowledge of art history and multiple techniques to produce his own style, which is nothing short of magic.
Local duo Buff Girls will be providing the soundtrack for the evening in the form of vinyl, and a fully licensed bar and limited menu by Cheese Me Baby will be available throughout the event. Art, music, booze and cheese, what more could you ask for?
Catch Daniel’s latest and unseen collection at Cheese Me Baby on Saturday, August 28th from 5pm. It’s free entry but space is limited. For more information click here.
