As our city continues to evolve and grow, smart Gold Coast businesses are catering to our diverse community.

At hospitality hubs throughout the Gold Coast, the hungry can experience halal dining, indulge at some of Queensland’s best vegan and vegetarian restaurants, and even scoop a dairy-free ice cream.

The city also hosts plenty of restaurants and cafes offering gluten-free fare as part of their regular menu.

Marie Anita’s, Mermaid Beach

Cuisine: Plant-based, organic, healthy.

Vibe: Contemporary-casual café.

Nourish yourself at Marie Anita’s café and artisanal bakery, where the entire menu is organic and plant-based plus sugar, dairy and gluten-free. Sit down for an all-day breakfast, lunch from 12.30pm, or grab snacks, coffee, raw juices and smoothies to go.

Lucia Tapas Garden, Tugun

Stylish and sophisticated, Miss Moneypenny’s offers gluten-free entrees, mains and sides starring seafoods, meats, salads and vegetables, as well as pizzas and share plates. For dessert, the pecan brittle with caramel cream is to die for.

Blendlove, Southport

Blendlove prides itself on producing nutritious treats and meals that are entirely vegan and gluten-free. Tuck into a hearty breakfast or lunch, or feast on the gorgeously raw cakes and slices the café is famous for.

Rabbath, Burleigh Heads

Vibe: Fine dining.

Offering cozy fine dining in the heart of Burleigh, Rabbath serves up authentic Syrian and Lebanese cuisine with a smile. Try small share-style plates and dips with gluten-free flatbreads or settle in for the sumptuous set menu.

Knock yourself out at Balboa Italian, where all the pizzas, pasta dishes and salads can be made gluten-free. Most of the antipasti dishes are also gluten-free, as is the chef’s special risotto.

Giri Kana Cafe, Southport

Cuisine: Vegetarian.

Vibe: Contemporary-casual café.

For a healthy and hearty meal, Giri Kana will hit the spot. For breakfast, try the kitchari, tofu scramble, acai bowl or avocado toast. Lunches span a range of wholesome hot dishes and salads, plus plant-based burgers. Gluten-free desserts include cheesecake, brownies, tiramisu, banoffee tart and sago or chocolate mousse cups.
