The HOPO Ferry takes in the beauty of the Gold Coast

Locals and visitors alike can experience the picturesque Gold Coast on the HOPO Ferry Service. Explore the newly opened HOTA cultural precinct or stop off at the exclusive Marina Mirage with an array of attractions to visit along the way.
HOPO offers an alternative transport option for the city with an affordable day pass that can get you from Southport in the north to Bundall in the south. Taking in five stops along the way, including Marina Mirage, Sea World and Surfers Paradise.
Enjoy the great outdoors as you explore the many tributaries that weave in and around the city. Sustainable in design and friendly to the environment, HOPO takes in some of the most picturesque views the coast has to offer.
The HOPO Ferry service operates daily from 9am to 6pm and a daily pass costs only $10.
Here are our top tips for a day (and night) out and about on the Gold Coast.
Family day tripping
Broadbeach Parklands is the perfect place to jump off for free family entertainment-from the outdoor amphitheatre to the interactive playground, private lagoon and giant bouncy pillow.
Next stop, Surfers Paradise is the place to be for fun, play a game of mini golf or ride a dodgem car at Timezone. There are a variety of food options for the whole family to enjoy and free weekly night markets are held along the promenade.
Catch a live performance at the outdoor HOTA stage with a nearby playground and user-friendly pathways for the kids to scooter around.
Visit the bustling farmer’s market on a Sunday morning or pop up a picnic in the green, open parklands that surround the cultural precinct.
There’s no need to worry about car parking with HOPO, the port destinations are all accessible for the elderly and people with special needs.
HOPO conveniently drops you off and has a regular timetable to pick you up from your chosen destination.
A couples cruise
Destination Marina Mirage for that special occasion, book a high tea at Palazzo Versace or indulge in a luxe massage for two. Marina Mirage is renowned for designer shops, award winning restaurants and spectacular views across the bay.
HOPO has a licensed bar where you can enjoy a beverage, whilst you take in the sights of the coast and admire the array of luxury yachts and waterside abodes along the way.
Stop off at Appel Park, where you can sip a sunset cocktail at a selection of stylish bars, rooftop venues and bustling nightclubs.
Ladies long day out
Spend the day exploring the newly opened HOTA cultural precinct with a plethora of public art spaces and rotating exhibitions.
Catch an independent art-house film at the HOTA cinema and take in the expansive views, with an aperitif at The Exhibitionist rooftop bar.
Book a long lunch at Palette HOTA’s casual fine dining restaurant with a menu that’s threaded with local produce.
The options are limitless with the HOPO port locations and there are plenty of gram-able moments dotted along the way.
