Winter on the Gold Coast is the perfect excuse for adventures into the Gold Coast hinterland and surrounds for weekend getaways, day trips, hikes, farm visits and the hunt for good food and wine.

Fox & Hounds

An authentic English pub, think traditional English pub fare including beef and Guinness pie, toad in the hole, roasts and golden Yorkshire pudding. Choose between George’s Bar, Paddy’s Bar or the Tudor Rose with Beer Garden, the beer garden is the perfect spot for the kids to have a run-around. For a romantic dinner by the fireplace, this is your perfect location. Choose from the A La Carte menu or spoil yourself with the 6-course degustation and wine pairing. The Fireplace Restaurant sits within the InterContinental so you are guaranteed a culinary experience. After your meal, take a stroll around Sanctuary Cove or grab a nightcap at one of the many bars, the perfect end to a perfect night. Date night goals.

A local favourite bring the kids and sit by the open fire, the BBQ is wood smoked the way it should be! Can’t decide what to get? Choose the 2-course banquet for $27pp and try a bit of everything. You can’t call yourself a Gold Coast local if you haven’t visited Woodchoppers.

Who doesn’t love a platter of Tasmanian double brie cheese, prosciutto di parma, balsamic olives and grilled chorizo? Top it off with an open fire pit for you and your besties to roast marshmallows and we’re on a winner here!

What’s winter without a winery stop? Mt Nathan Winery is offering a range of wines including their award-winning blend the honey fortified wine Winter Original. Winemaking has been in this family’s blood since they first migrated back in 1850s. Try the Winter Wines such as chocolate, coffee or lychee, I’ll take my wine as dessert thanks!
The lace tablecloths, beautifully decorated teacups and teapots, three-tiered vintage cake stands, delicate finger sandwiches and scrumptious scones and cream all add to the experience of high tea.
Create some winter memories with your daughter, mum, grandma or friends and get some old-world charm at one of the many teahouses on the Gold Coast, pinkies up ladies.
