Kick-start your creativity in 2021

April 26, 2021

Henri Matisse once said “creativity takes courage,” and we couldn’t agree more. If you’ve always dreamed of discovering your inner-artist but needed a nudge to get the ball rolling – we’re here to help.

The Gold Coast is fast becoming a melting pot of opportunity for creatives of all skill levels. So, to help kick-start your next artistic adventure, we’ve rounded up the best creative workshops across the Gold Coast. Whether you’ve always dreamed of learning how to paint, sculpt, photograph, or design your own jewellery – now’s the time to make it happen.

Take On A Blank Canvas

Gold Coast Art School | Southport
Let’s start with the basics – painting and drawing. Gold Coast Art School is here to help teach you the skills to create your own masterpiece. With over 25 years of experience, they are considered one of the leading art schools in Queensland and teach students of all levels. Enrol in a workshop or drop in on one of their open classes – you’ll be on your way to becoming your own Monet in no time.

Sip ‘n’ Paint classes
Sometimes a little bit of wine helps get the creative juices flowing. Surfers Paradise’s Brush and Barrel and Pinot & Picasso (Southport and Palm Beach) totally understand this. Instead of raising your glass to a night out clubbing, raise your glass to sip and paint. You can literally bush off the stress as you paint, laugh and create different kinds of messy memories with your mates.

Sweet Fine Artist Studio | Mermaid Beach
Looking for a place to completely relax, create and paint? Sweet Fine Artist Studio in Mermaid may be calling your name. No formal artistic experience is necessary and all ages are welcome. Try one of their weekly Tuesday evening art society classes and create whatever you want. If you prefer a bit of guidance you can also try their 8 week beginner’s painting course. They also offer life drawing.
