Monster Machinery Day set to thrill
Charntel Cleveland | May 24, 2021
Round up your rug rats, yard monkeys, tin lids and tykes, and head to Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast this Sunday 30 May to get up close and personal with a multitude of machinery.
More than 50 vehicles and vessels will be on display at Monster Machinery Day including excavators, tip trucks, beach tractors, all-terrain vehicles, boats, quad bikes, road sweepers and even emergency service vehicles.
Now in its 17th year, the annual Monster Machinery Day, gives residents and visitors to the city the chance to see the City of Gold Coast machinery that transforms our metropolis for the better, as well as those that maintain our parks, beaches, streets and suburbs.
Children can also find out more about the machinery that help protect and preserve our way of life, with police cars, ambulances, fire trucks and SES vehicles included in the action.
Kids’ imaginations will ignite as they picture themselves as lifeguards and landscapers, policemen and paramedics, construction workers and beach cleaners.
The whole family can enjoy a range of free activities, including rides, live machinery demonstrations, face painting and a jumping castle.
To help fuel the fun, there will also be a variety of food trucks on site selling delicious lunch and snack options.
You may even like to pack a picnic and take some time out to enjoy the beautiful Broadwater views.
Proudly supported by Nine Gold Coast News and Triple M, Monster Machinery Day runs from 9am to 3pm on May 30, on the Southern Lawn of Broadwater Parklands.
With thousands of families anticipated at the event, car parking will be limited, so it’s recommended you catch public transport or even walk, ride, scoot or skate there if you can.
Catching the G:Link tram is an ideal way to get there—just hop off at the Broadwater Parklands station and walk across the road to the event.
Monster Machinery Day is a free community event suitable for all ages.
