With so many second-hand stores scattered all over the city, it really is as easy as ever to shop sustainably. To help get you started on your new thriftin’ way of life, we’ve pulled together a list of the Gold Coast’s must-visit vintage stores. Out with the old and in with the near-new!

Grab the crew, chow down some delicious street eats and get rummaging mid-week at Miami Marketta! You’re bound to snag a bargain here from any of the local legends clearing out their wardrobes. Here you’ll find a range of vintage, pre-loved, handmade and upcycled items at some delightful prices. If you’re in need of a spring clean yourself, why not apply for a rack space? Oh and did we mention all of this is set to the backdrop of live music? Yes please.

Strange Days Store | Palm Beach
For the rockers, honky-tonkers and disco rollers, Strange Days brings you a selection of vintage and upcycled clothing and retro goods. Strange Days also has a collection of new boutique clothing and accessories – all of which are hand selected and affordable. Owner Sylvie is passionate about encouraging people to shop imaginatively and sustainably.

Orbit Op Shop | Burleigh
Located in the creative hub of Mo’s Desert Clubhouse, Orbit Op Shop sells vintage and pre-loved clothing for $5 or less. Snap up a bargain from Thursday to Saturday and feel good doing so, with all proceeds going back to national not for profits and charity organisations. Mo’s also run their own rummage sale every few weeks – Desert Digs Market. You can apply for your own rack, and have the friendly folk at Mo’s whip you up an ice cold margarita while you’re at it. Did you know that once a month The Village Markets hosts a second hand rack sale? Now you do! Gather your dollars, because this market makes for a Sunday morning well spent. Specialising in pre-loved designer clothing at a slice of the price, you’ll find everything from quirky vintage finds, to local influencers slinging near-new outfits at jaw-dropping prices.

Short on time but love a thrifty find? Look no further than Hunt and Gather’s Facebook or Insta pages for all things vintage home décor, collectibles, fashion, and furniture. This op-shop is small in size but is a treasure trove for vintage threads. Rummage through the well-organised and colour-coordinated aisles until your heart’s content. Any purchases will directly support the Animal Welfare League, so what are you waiting for? Do it for the kittens.

Newlife prides itself on providing high quality items at a low cost. Lifeline | Molendinar
The mother of all op-shops, Lifeline Molendinar will easily consume half of your Saturday with its endless racks of second-hand threads and household goods. Don’t blame us if you come home with a whole new wardrobe and some pre-loved furniture too. All proceeds from the shop go to the national charity which provides Australians with access to 24-hour crisis support and suicide prevention services.
