Sip a cider in the sun at a surf club
The city’s coastline is peppered with an impressive range of surf clubs, and what better way to soak up the warm spring rays than with a crisp cider in hand and a succulent chicken parmy on your plate. If you’re looking for a timeless classic, then look no further than Currumbin Beach Vikings SLSC. The iconic surf clubs is nestled alongside Elephant Rock with a world-class view overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Burleigh SLSC has also recently undergone a $5 million refurbishment – and trust us, you’re going to want to check it out. Get your ‘gram at the ready.
Snap some jacarandas in bloom
Japan may have its cherry blossom season, but during spring on the Gold Coast, the stunning jacarandas are in full bloom and are not to be missed. If you’re keen to take in the majesty of jacarandas or light up your Instagram feed with these blooming beauties, we’ve rounded up the best places on the Gold Coast to capture these breathtaking blooms here.
Treat the palate to fresh seafood
With the weather warming up, our thoughts turn to seafood. Whether it’s something to throw on the barbie or some refreshing sashimi, spring is the time to indulge in fresh seafood. Wake up bright and early and get down to Main Beach for a morning well spent at the trawlers.
New kid on the block Miami Fish Market sources responsibly from local fisherman and suppliers. Here you’ll find everything from live seafood, to a designated sashimi and oyster bar. Co-owner Paul Gloftis suggests if you want to try something a bit different this Spring then give fresh sea urchin a whirl. Urchin can be served with some glossy fresh oysters or tossed through with some pasta for a quick healthy meal. Gloftis and the team make fresh to order sashimi platters perfect for a quick take home meal or a sophisticated picnic.
