The Gold Coast’s boat building industry is estimated at $33 million, with a further $11 million currently being invested into the city’s marine trades campus.
With 52 kilometres of beaches, an iconic protected Broadwater and 260 kilometres of navigable waterways, the Gold Coast is a boating paradise and home to more than 40,000 registered watercraft.
The city’s marine industry is well developed, specialising in the manufacture of marine craft for the Australian and international markets. The city is the headquarters to over 450 marine companies from manufacturers of luxury superyachts to smaller recreational aluminium boats.
The Gold Coast also possesses strengths in high-value manufacturing of marine equipment. Accessory manufacturers are well recognised for their capability in a diverse range of hardware, accessories, lighting and dock flotation systems, with many Gold Coast products found within the build of yachts and marinas around the world.

Telwater based in Coomera, are Australia’s largest manufacturer of aluminium boat and trailer packages. Gold Coast Marine Precinct
The City of Gold Coast dedicated an industrial zone in Coomera, Gold Coast Marine Precinct, to marine manufacturing, servicing, repairs and refits of recreational boats. The marine precinct is now one of the most advanced and highly respected marine industry cluster developments in the Southern Hemisphere.
