The Gold Coast Marine Precinct is Australia’s premier boating hub set across 250 hectares on the shores of the Coomera River where major marina facilities and boat manufacturers make a significant contribution to our export economy.
The billion-dollar-plus precinct is home to the Gold Coast City Marina and The Boat Works, two individual complexes that support the largest concentration of marine trades in Australia.
Gold Coast City Marina services and repairs 50,000 boats a year in a state-of-the art facility that has extensive capabilities for maintenance and repairs and berthing facilities for superyachts up to 75 metres in length. The marina has 50,000 square metres of hardstand and refit sheds, with a Travelift capacity of up to 600 tonnes.
The Boat Works is capable of mooring superyachts up to 60 metres in length, with on-site facilities including marine lifts that can handle vessels up to 300 tonnes and 10 superyacht sheds.
Between them, these marinas accommodate 110 individual marine businesses on site that offer chandlery, repair and professional support services to the marine industry and the boat owners who arrive from around the world to utilise our world-class facilities.
Our marine precinct is home to Riviera, Australia’s largest producer of luxury motor yachts, and fellow motor yacht manufacturer Maritimo.
Riviera has a workforce of 600, producing 100 motor yachts a year with more than half of them destined for the export market. Both Riviera and Maritimo compete with the best boat manufacturers in the world, enhancing Australia’s reputation for quality manufacturing.
Telwater, Australia’s largest manufacturer of aluminium boat and trailer packages under the Quintrex and Stacer brands, has established itself as a market leader in its field.
Between them, these industries bring a new dimension to our manufacturing base, and enhance the training of workers in the specialist skills the industry needs to grow.
